Congratulations to Orla’s Uncle Luke who has run the Philadelphia Marathon in an excellent time of 4 hours and 7 minutes. A busy life in New York meant training was never going to be easy but he got out on the pavement…sorry sidewalk and into Central Park to get the miles in his legs.
Luke was feeling the pressure as his sister Gemma had just completed the Richmond (UK) marathon in 3 hours and 56 minutes and he’d managed to raise an exceptional £4,137 for CMV Action. A bit of sibling rivalry and such a large total meant he pushed himself hard right to the finish line.
We are all very proud of his efforts and that he is the first person to raise funds for CMV Action associated with Orla’s diagnosis. Luke’s exceptional total will help continue the awareness fight.
And remember there’s still time to support Luke’s efforts here if you would like.
